UTAH STATE PRISON A man convicted of killing a 2-year-old Murray boy will serve out the remainder of his sentence before being released from prison.
The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole announced Tuesday that Phillip Justin Guymon, 31, will have his sentence expire on Aug. 1, 2011. Guymon was convicted in Salt Lake City's 3rd District Court of beating Jayden Cangro to death in 2006.
He pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony child abuse homicide charge, but was sentenced as if it were a third-degree felony under the terms of his plea deal.
