A man and a woman were arrested today at the Motel 6 at 1990 W. North Temple for suspicion of homicide in El Dorado County, Calif.

The suspects were found at the hotel during a routine Division of Motor Vehicles search for stolen vehicles. When the DMV officers ran the plate, they found the occupants of the car were wanted for questioning in the California homicide. They contacted Salt Lake police for assistance.

The two people were arrested without incident. Each of the suspects suffered from multiple injuries, the woman from lacerations and the man from gunshot wounds.

The suspects were taken to a local hospital, according to Lt. Scott White of the Salt Lake Police Department.

Detectives from El Dorado County are en route to Utah to question the suspects. White said a gun was recovered from the motel, but he doesn't know if it was involved in the homicide.
