Logan officials are extending a program to provide incentives for residents and businesses to install solar power systems.

The Municipal Council voted to continue a program offering $2,000 per kilowatt generated through solar systems as part of a larger incentive program for renewable energy.

The rebate is available to Logan City Light & Power's residential and commercial customers.

The pilot program, which began in January, was scheduled to run out June 30.

Logan council woman Laraine Swenson says she hopes more people will take advantage of the rebate.
