A father who police say left his 2-year-old son in the car while he went to a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight" has been charged with child abuse.
David James Farnham, 23, left his toddler in a locked car in the parking lot of South Salt Lake's Century 16 Theater, 150 E. 3300 South, for about two hours Sunday, according to charges filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court.
The temperature inside the car was 87 degrees, police said. the child was hot and sweating but otherwise unharmed.
Farnham faces one count of child abuse, a class A misdemeanor.
