Pioneer Day activities on tap, from breakfasts to fireworks

Salt Lake City: Today — 7 a.m., Sunrise Service, LDS Tabernacle, featuring a 300-voice choir led by Sterling Poulson. Free admission; 5:30 a.m., Deseret News/KJZZ Marathon 10K/5K Fitness Walk; marathon starts at the top of Big Mountain above Emigration Canyon; 6 a.m., 10K starts at Research Park, 500 S. Wakara Way, on the University of Utah Campus; 7 a.m., "I AM THE FUTURE" 5K Walk begins at the EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple; 9 a.m., Days of '47 parade starts at South Temple and State Street, goes east to 200 East, south to 900 South, then east to Liberty Park; 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Pioneer Heritage Festival runs today through Saturday at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at This Is the Place Heritage Park, 2601 E. Sunnyside Ave. (800 South).

Cedar Hills: Today — 7:05 p.m., Night With the Orem Owlz at Utah Valley University, tickets available at the city offices, $5 (includes hot dog and drink) $3 chair only; Friday: 6-9 p.m., dinner and outdoor movie, Heritage Park pavilion, 4450 W. Cedar Hills Drive, followed by activities in park. Saturday: 9 a.m., parade. Many events in Heritage Park, 4450 W.
