Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have received much attention lately, some of it unwanted, such as mistaken association with polygamous groups that have made recent headlines. A group of Mormon scholars, however, hopes to focus positive attention on LDS issues in an upcoming conference sponsored by the grass-roots volunteer organization FAIR.
FAIR the Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research will hold its annual conference Aug. 7 and 8 at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy.
Among the topics being presented at this year's conference are Book of Mormon Geography, Philosophy and Mormonism, Joseph Smith's DNA Revealed, the White Horse Prophecy, the Book of Abraham, the Joseph Smith Papers, and Shaken Faith Syndrome (based on the newly released book of the same title).
It is open to the public. More information can be found at www.fairlds.org.
