Utah Blaze quarterback Joe Germaine and wide receiver Huey Whittaker (6-5, 220, South Florida) were named to the ESPN.com All-AFL Team this week.
Germaine threw for 4,859 yards and 97 touchdowns and had a QB rating of 123.1 for the Blaze in 2008.
"He continues to put up awesome numbers despite offensive changes," wrote Gary Horton on ESPN.com. "He lost his best receiver, Siaha Burley, in the offseason and had to break in a new group of receivers."
Whittaker was one of three Utah receivers (Aaron Boone and J.J. McKelvey) to record more than 1,500 yards receiving this season. Whittaker hauled in 126 passes for 1,541 yards and 32 touchdowns.
"He is part of a great receiving trio in Utah that puts up record-breaking numbers," Horton wrote.
Whittaker was also a 2008 All-Arena First Team selection, while Germaine was a 2008 All-Arena Second Team selection.
