A man with several outstanding warrants was arrested by the Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit following a chase by police and a K9.
Deputies had been looking for Jared Lance throughout the day and eventually spotted him Tuesday night near 3400 South and 1100 East in a vehicle stolen out of Salt Lake City, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputy Levi Hughes.
A short car chase ensued which ended when the driver crashed into a yard. The driver got out and ran. A police K9, who happened to be in the area training, was called to the scene and was able to track down Lance near 6000 South and 2100 East. The fleeing suspect received a bite wound from the dog when he tried to resist arrest. He was treated at a local hospital.
Lance was wanted on warrants for drug possession. His criminal record also included aggravated kidnapping. Deputies said this wasn't the first time they had been involved in a chase with Lance.
