Homosexual acts are sinful

In a recent letter (Readers' Forum, July 13), Carlyle Potter, a member of the LDS Church, suggests that his prophet and the other general authorities are wrong in opposing gay marriage. His rationale is that Jesus told us never to reject anyone. No one disagrees that we have an obligation to unconditionally love everyone, but at the same time we can reject and abhor their behavior. There is a distinct difference.

Homosexual behavior has and will continue to be unacceptable in the eyes of an unchanging God. But that same God will always love his children and will hold those accountable who fail to conform to his commandments, no matter what the world thinks and accepts.
