MIDWAY It will go down as a final for the history books.
By rolling in a 4-foot par putt on the 38th hole, No. 2 on Soldier Hollow's Silver Course, Dan Horner won the 110th Utah Men's State Amateur golf tournament in sudden death over Utah State University senior Devin Daniels.
Horner actually had a 10-foot birdie on No. 18, the 36th hole, to win the title but left it short. Daniels then had a 6-foot putt to win on the 37th hole, No. 1, but pulled it left. Horner was able to win with a par after Daniels hit his tee shot left on the par-5 second hole and took two shots to get out of the weeds.
