Using signal prioritization and dedicated lanes, UTA will be able to offer faster, more dependable and efficient bus service to riders. MAX is expected to run at the same frequency as TRAX, or about every 15 minutes. The new line is expected to serve some 1,500 residents daily, according to UTA.
The fare for MAX will be the same as bus and TRAX service, currently $2. Riders can pay for their fares at ticket vending machines at stations. As on TRAX, riders will not have to show their ticket to drivers, but police officers will randomly check for fares.
MAX's hours of operation coincide with TRAX, with the exception of no Sunday service.
