WEST VALLEY — A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into another vehicle late Wednesday night.

Alex Soderborg, 24, was eastbound on 4100 South near 4000 West when he struck the broadside of a compact car as it made a left turn, said West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.

The accident happened just before 10 p.m. and Soderborg died shortly after a helicopter landed to fly him to a nearby hospital, Taylor said.

Investigators were still trying to determine where the light at the intersection was in its cycle when the crash occurred. No citations were issued Wednesday night.

The driver of the compact car was not injured, police said.
