OREM — The Orem Owlz nearly saw a 9-1 lead evaporate in the last three innings as John Alfaro's home run pulled the Chukars within a score in the bottom of the ninth inning. Shawn Griffin then hit a double, but Kevin Nabors fanned the next two batters to end the threat.

Donato Giovanatto collected three RBIs on a homer in the fifth inning for Orem.

RAPTORS 13, GHOSTS 2: At Casper, Wyo., the Ogden Raptors took advantage of three Casper errors and held a 15-4 edge in the hitting department to cruise past the Ghosts.

Austin Yount was a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBIs while Jonathan Dutton (2-1) earned the win.
