Two children were found safe and healthy this evening after they had been missing for nearly five hours from their family's camp in Iron County.

The boys, ages 2 and 5, had been missing since about 2:30 p.m. from their camp in a densly wooded area near Parowan. They were found roughly three miles from camp at about 7:20 p.m. by a searcher riding an ATV, said Sgt. Jody Edwards of the Iron County Sheriff's Office.

The rescuer, a member of the Iron County Search and Rescue, had started riding his ATV in a reverse spiral toward the camp, Edwards said.

"He got the page and he was up in the area with his family," Edwards said. "He went right to work."

The boys' parents had searched for the boys on their own for about an hour before calling for help about 3:30 p.m., Edwards said. By 3:45, Iron County Search and Rescue was on the scene, along with the Iron County Sheriff's Office. The Utah Department of Public Safety also assisted in the search.
