SOUTH JORDAN Police here were looking Thursday for at least one man in connection with a bank robbery, and were investigating whether he could be linked to two pharmacy robberies Wednesday.
A little before 9:30 a.m. a man entered Golden West Credit Union, 3664 W. Jordan Parkway, pulled out a handgun and told the employees to take him to the vault, said South Jordan Police Lt. Rob Hansen.
The man pulled a mask over his head and wore gloves as he entered the building.
Once inside the vault, he took an undisclosed amount of cash, car keys from one of the employees and ordered everyone to lie on the floor, Hansen said.
An officer located the stolen employee's car a few blocks away at a dead-end street, he said. Based on the reaction from police K-9s brought to the scene, detectives believe the man got into another car that was waiting at the dead end.
The robber was described as being about 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds. Wednesday afternoon, a man robbed a Kmart pharmacy in West Jordan, 1442 W. 9000 South. That man was described as 5-foot-7 with a stocky build.
Thirty minutes after that robbery, a pharmacy at an Albertson's in Draper was robbed.
