Sandy delays a vote on building heights

SANDY — The City Council here postponed a vote Tuesday on an ordinance that would have allowed buildings of any height in certain parts of the city.

The ordinance was suggested by the architect of The Proscenium, a proposed project near City Hall that could include a Broadway-style theater, condominiums and office and retail space. Three rounded, glass towers in the project could be 30 stories high.

Buildings of 10 or fewer stories are allowed in Sandy.

One resident expressed concern about building height. She was the only person to speak during the public hearing.

The council will next discuss the project July 15 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 10000 Centennial Parkway.
