WEST JORDAN A man robbed a Kmart pharmacy, making off with a bottle of OxyContin late Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 4 p.m., the man entered the store, 1442 W. 9000 South, and passed the clerk a note stating he had a gun and demanding the painkiller, said West Jordan police officer Dan Harkness.
The man left the store after he was given a bottle containing 100 OxyContin pills. No weapon was ever seen.
Police described the robber as 5-foot-7 with a stocky build, a goatee and dark hair. He was wearing a long-sleeve shirt and black pants.
About 30 minutes after the Kmart robbery, police said a man robbed a pharmacy at an Albertson's in Draper. Harkness said West Jordan police are working with investigators in Draper to see if the robberies are related.
