MOAB A man was killed when his minivan slammed into a semitrailer near here.
The Utah Highway Patrol said a 2008 Chevy Uplander carrying three people from Spain was headed north on state Route 191 Monday when it drifted into the opposite lane, slamming into the semitrailer.
"The semi tried to move off to the right to avoid the collision, but the Chevy hit the driver's side of the semi," said UHP trooper Cameron Roden.
The driver, Enrique Alonso Salazar, 66, of Barcelona, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Their minivan was rented in Colorado, but it is unknown where they were headed. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
