VERNAL — The Utah Highway Patrol has released the name of a 22-year-old man killed in a weekend crash on U.S. 40.

The UHP said Daniel Dean Johnson, 22, of Colorado City, Ariz., was killed when the truck he was riding in hit a guard rail and rolled. Four men were ejected from the truck. The driver remained inside. The other men, all believed to be from the Colorado City area, were hospitalized with serious injuries.

Troopers said that it appears the driver was distracted by camping equipment blowing out of the back of the truck. No one was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
