HELPER — A truck driver was killed when he drove off an embankment in Indian Canyon early Sunday morning.

Raul C. Rodriguez Jr., of Alice, Texas, was pulling a load of cement on state Route 191 north of Helper around 6 a.m., said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ted Tingey.

"He was coming down the straightaway of the canyon and he got going too fast and couldn't slow down as he came into the curve," Tingey said. "He went off the left side and down the cliff about 75 yards."

Rodriguez, 58, died at the scene.
