Real Salt Lake announced Friday afternoon that Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica will take on RSL next month in conjunction with the club's Pioneer Day festivities. Real will host Saprissa on July 23 at 8 p.m., with a fireworks display to follow.
With 27 premier league titles in tote, Saprissa is the most successful club in Costa Rican history and will be RSL's second International opponent of 2008. On July 9, RSL will face Mexican champions Santos Laguna.
Originally, Salt Lake was scheduled to host world power Real Madrid in July, but the Spanish champions backed out last month.
