Public comment sought on transportation
Proposals affect S.L., Davis, Tooele, Weber residents
Those with a stake in transportation systems in Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele and Weber counties have been invited by the Wasatch Front Regional Council to voice their opinions and concerns online or in person at open houses.
The council is seeking comment on three proposals that will be voted on when it reconvenes in August. The public is being asked to review the proposals and leave feedback to help council members make their decisions. The drafts of these documents are available online at www.wfrc.org.
The first item is a plan for the development of human services transportation in more rural areas served by the council. Second is a proposed transportation improvement plan for 2009 to 2014. The third item available for comment is the proposed amendments to the regional transportation plan.
On July 10 the council will host an open house in Ogden at the Intermodal Center, 2393 Wall Ave., to offer a presentation of the information and collect comments. In Salt Lake City the council will host an open house July 17 in the Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E. 400 South, conference room B. Both open houses are scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m..
The council will accept comments until July 31. For more information or questions check www.wfrc.org or call Sam Klemm, public information officer for the council, at 801-363 4250 or e-mail sklemm@wfrc.org.
