OPENING THIS WEEK

• Tuesday

Lamplight Art Gallery (170 S. Main, Bountiful, 298-0290) — Art incorporating multiple mediums by gallery co-founder Colleen Parker. Also encaustic work by Verdie Taggart. The exhibit runs through July. Artists' reception Friday, July 11 from 6-9 p.m.

Utah Arts Alliance Main Street Gallery (127 S. Main) — "Calles de la Candelaria, and Other New Works," featuring paintings by Layne Mecham, through Aug. 2. Artist's reception Friday, July 11, from 6-9 p.m.

Zion Natural History Museum (Zion National Park) — "2 Work in Zion," featuring paintings by Kate Starling and paintings and woodcuts by Royden Card, through Aug. 18. Artists' reception Thursday evening from 7:30-9.

• Thursday

Sego Art Center (169 N. University, Provo, 599-0680) — "Was Ist Surrealismus," featuring featuring an installation by Utah artist Brandon Boulton. Also the inagural show of St. Louis artist Colin Tuis Nesbit. Both exhibits run through July.

• Friday

Gallery Mar (580 E. Main, Park City, 435-649-3001) — Oils by Brad Stroman and sculpture by Fran Nicholson through July. Grand opening festivities today and tomorrow from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

• Saturday

Julie Nester Gallery (1255 Bonanza Drive, Park City, 435-649-7855) — "Moving Pictures," featuring new work by gallery artists, through July 29. Opening reception this evening from 5:30-8.


CONTINUING EXHIBITIONS

21st Street Gallery (1064 E. 2100 South, Rockwood Art Building) — Artwork of seven women, including watercolors, collage, acrylics, photography and furniture. Open by appointment by calling 467-3694.

A Gallery* (1321 S. 2100 East, 583-4800) — The gallery's 25th anniversary celebration with art by gallery regulars through July 28.

Abravanel Hall (123 W. South Temple) — Dale Chihuly's "Olympic Tower" and art from the Salt Lake County Art Collection.

Alice Merrill Horne Gallery* (617 E. South Temple, 236-7555) — Exhibit of the five paintings added to the Utah State Fine Art Collection during the 2007-08 fiscal year plus six recently conserved pieces.

Anthony's Antiques and Fine Art (402 E. 200 South, 328-2231) — Fine art and furniture.

Art Access* (230 S. 500 West, 328-0703) — "Triumph of the Human Spirit: The Bindu Art School Project," featuring work by artists with leprosy, through July 11. (Sales from art show will go entirely to the school.)

Art Access II* (230 S. 500 West, 328-0703) — "Chadwick Tolley, New Work: Etchings & Woodcuts," featuring 18 prints by the artist through July 11.

Art at the Main (Main Library, 210 E. 400 South, 363-4088) — Second anniversary group show through July 12.
