High gas prices keeping you at home? You can have fun by going no farther than your backyard. The National Wildlife Federations encourages you to turn off computers, TVs, iPods, Wiis, MP3 players and cell phones and participate in the Great American Backyard Campout Saturday night. You can listen for nocturnal wildlife, star-gaze, cook outdoors, tell stories about Bigfoot or the Bear Lake Monster and get to know Mother Nature better all in your own backyard.
For more information about the initiative, recipes, wildlife guides, activities and more, visit www.backyardcampout.org.
