WASHINGTON (AP) Los Angeles Angels outfielder Vladimir Guerrero was out of the starting lineup Wednesday night, a day after he left a game with flu-like symptoms.
Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a first-inning single on Tuesday night in Washington. He was OK to pinch-hit Wednesday against the Nationals.
"He's available," manager Mike Scioscia said.
Scioscia said that Guerrero would be ready to play Friday when the Angels visit the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Guerrero, who's batting .290 with 13 home runs and 43 RBIs this season, has a .446 average (25-for-56) during his streak.
Gary Matthews Jr. started in right field in Guerrero's place.
