Ogden School District has saved on energy

OGDEN (AP) — The Ogden School District has saved almost half a million dollars in energy costs in less than a year.

The school district normally spends more than $2 million a year on energy.

Through March, the school system had saved more than $481,000 in energy costs. That comes at a time electricity rates increased by 30 percent and water rates increased by 20 percent.

All district employees received $25 last month in recognition of their efforts.
