WEST JORDAN Intermountain Donor Services is collaborating with the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce in hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony to challenge the community to become organ donors.
The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. July 1 at West Jordan City Hall, 8000 S. Redwood.
Event activities include a visit from unicyclists, a short presentation on the results of organ donation, an opportunity to meet a recipient of a donor heart and prize drawings for those who show their Utah driver's license and/or identification as being organ donors or sign up to be an organ donor at the event.
"The community is supporting organ donation in greater numbers," said Rocio Mejia, Hispanic outreach coordinator for Intermountain Donor Services. "This event will remind the West Jordan community that we can make a difference and save lives."
