PLEASANT GROVE Two 14-year-old boys were transported to the hospital after a scooter accident in Pleasant Grove Thursday.
Just after 7 p.m. the boys were riding down a hill on a motorized scooter in a residential neighborhood near 834 S. 1600 East when they crashed into the side of a 2005 Cadillac, Pleasant Grove Lt. Clark Nielsen said.
Nielsen said the driver of the Cadillac was attempting to make a three-point turn on the road where a block party was taking place when the boys' scooter struck the car. At the time of the impact, however, the car was barely moving, Nielsen said.
One of the boys was unconscious when paramedics arrived, although he had strong vital signs. Nielsen said the boy was still unconscious as of Friday afternoon.
Neither boys was wearing a helmet, he said. One of the boys was transported by AirMed to Primary Children's Medical Center while the other was transported to American Fork Hospital by ambulance.
Nielsen said it appeared the driver of the scooter applied brakes before the crash.
