A West Jordan man has been charged with taking nude and sexually suggestive photos of a child and then reportedly selling the images over the Internet.
A federal grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday against Kenneth L. Reese on one count of production of child pornography.
According to the charging documents, Reese is accused of taking nude photos of a 15-year-old girl beginning when she was 13 years old.
The case came to light when the girl told a relative about the abuse. The relative, in turn, told a family friend. That friend searched Reese's computer and found numerous images of the victim "posed in a sexual manner." The family friend then burned the images onto a CD and turned it over to the FBI.
When interviewed, the victim told agents that Reese told her he sent the images to a friend overseas and that he received money for the photographs.
If convicted, Reese faces a mandatory sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 in federal prison.
