In response to Eric Wadley ("Obama should appeal to LDS," Readers' Forum, June 5), I am appalled that he could even suggest there is a likeness to Obama and the Book of Mormon heroes. Yes, they were dramatic men of passion, but they were also men of valor, physically defending their religion, wives and families against those who would overthrow their freedoms.
So, you're saying that Obama is affixed to the principles of truth and charity? The principle of more taxation, yes. The truth of more government control. Belonging to a religious group where the pastors spews hate and divisiveness. And charity? Where does his charity come in? By giving more of our money where he sees fit? What has he personally done to show any spiritual roots?
