When organizers of St. Louis Jubilee were setting up chairs for the event, they didn't know how many people would show up.

As the time drew near Sunday, people kept pouring into the St. Louis Missouri South Stake center until more than 1,500 were there to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first modern stake to be formed in the area. There had been a stake in St. Louis in the 1850s, but it had been dormant for more than 100 years.
