The Utah/Idaho chapter of the Arthritis Foundation will hold its annual Arthritis Walk on Saturday at Wheeler Farm, 6351 S. 900 East.
The noncompetitive three-mile walk is the signature fundraiser for the organization. There's also a one-mile option for participants.
Participants are encouraged to organize teams of 10 or more and raise money and race as a team. A prize will be given to the team that raises the most money.
All the money raised goes to support the local chapter in its efforts to discover improved care, treatments and cure for the disease.
This year's honoree is 11-year-old Brigham City native Anna Snyder, who has juvenile arthritis. She continues to play soccer and participate in jazz dance, and her positive attitude has led her to rally classmates at Discovery Elementary to participate in the event and raise additional money for the foundation.
Sponsors nationally include Nature Made TripleFlex, Pfizer Animal Health Rimadyl, Biomet and Arthritis Today magazine.
