An altercation between a couple walking in South Salt Lake ended in a stabbing and an arrest at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.
South Salt Lake police Lt. Greg Carlson said officers who responded to the call were told two different stories by a man and woman walking near 3130 South and Angelo Avenue. The woman said the man threatened her with a knife and, during a scuffle, the man was accidentally stabbed. The man said the woman stabbed him in the stomach during an argument. After police found a knife in the woman's purse, they determined the man was telling the truth and arrested the woman on suspicion of aggravated assault and some unrelated outstanding warrants.
Carlson said the man was transported to a local hospital, though his injuries were not life-threatening.
