Man sought in tickling incident

OREM — Police are asking for the community's help to identify a man they believe improperly touched a 3-year-old girl in a shopping cart at Wal-Mart in Orem.

Orem police received a report May 14 from a mother who said her daughter told her a man had "tickled her bottom" when he passed by her as she sat in the shopping cart.

The mom had just stepped around the corner of an aisle to grab something, said Orem Police Lt. Doug Edwards.

The mother saw the man standing at the end of the aisle, but he quickly left and walked out of the store, getting into a white, long-bed crew-cab truck with what appears to be chrome rocker panels along the bottom, Edwards said.

Wal-Mart surveillance tapes show a white male with short dark hair, wearing a ball cap, gray shirt with white lettering, khaki pants and white tennis shoes.

The man walked into the store around 1 p.m. that day and wandered for an hour, Edwards said.
