TACOMA, Wash. A battle between last year's two best Northwest Division teams ended in a 1-1 tie.
In the 32nd minute, Steve Fellows played a through ball to Zach Defrancis, who blasted it past the Tide goalkeeper.
The next goal game for the Tide came in the 53rd minute when Spencer Schomacer slid the ball behind the Cougars' defense to Raphael Cox, who finished the goal.
"Obviously we want to win when we're on the road," said assistant coach Chad Sackett, "But we're glad we got a point. We've never won at this field so it worked out well for us."
The Cougars are on the road again this weekend. They play the Abbotsford Rangers on Friday and the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday in Canada.
