Several viewing parties will be held this week for David Archuleta fans as the 17-year-old Murray teen vies for the American Idol title.

Tonight at 7:15, Murray High School, 5440 S. State, where Archuleta is a student, is planning an informal party.

On Wednesday, parties are planned at Murray High at 7 p.m. and the EnergySolutions Arena in downtown Salt Lake City at 6 p.m. Both events are free to the public.

People who attend the EnergySolutions party will be watching a live feed of the Los Angeles broadcast and will know ahead of regular Utah viewers who wins the contest.

Portions of the party will also be aired on Wednesday's broadcast.

Door at the EnergySolutions Arena will open at 4:30 p.m.
