Active children and people with respiratory disease living in Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Utah counties are being advised to limit exertion or prolonged activity outside Monday because of a "red" air quality alert forecast Saturday by the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.
A yellow warning was issued for today in each of those counties. On yellow days, people are asked to limit their driving. Last month, wind and blowing dust led to a red alert, and there have been several days this year with either red or yellow conditions announced by the DEQ.
