A 60-year-old Bountiful man was killed Saturday when his ATV rolled over on top of him as he tried to load it on to a trailer, Tooele County Sheriff's deputy Aaron Bird said.
The victim and his wife had recently purchased two ATVs and they had finished riding around 3 p.m. west of Lookout Pass near the Pony Express Trail in a popular ATV area when the accident happened, Bird said. The man apparently did not have enough momentum driving the ATV up a ramp when it rolled backward.
A firefighter was unsuccessful in trying to revive the man, who Bird declined to identify until the man's wife had notified the couple's grown children.
