Farm bill irresponsible

The latest five-year farm bill just passed the House of Representatives. President Bush had threatened a veto; however, the bill's passage was overwhelming. This pork-laden piece of legislation will continue to subsidize farmers and pay them to idle their land to the tune of $70 billion.

This is just another in a long list of examples of the federal government's complete ineptitude as far as being fiscally responsible is concerned. We have our representative government in Washington to blame for our higher food prices, as well as our escalating fuel prices.
