PROVO The Provo City Library at Academy Square is sponsoring the first Provo Children's Book Festival on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library, 550 N. University Ave.
Friday night is a keynote kick-off with Gerald McDermott, children's author and illustrator of multiple Caldecott Award-winning books. Saturday is an all-day event with more than 30 local and regional authors and illustrators doing presentations, signings, illustrations and more throughout the day.
Saturday festivities include puppet shows, arts and crafts, printing press demonstrations, bookmaking and a book sale.
