The Utah Museum of Natural History at the University of Utah on Thursday will announce a major donation to its capital campaign from a donor for whom the building will be named.

This gift marks the largest single corporate donation made to the project and the university to date, said museum spokeswoman Patti Carpenter.

In addition, the museum, after several years of concentrated design work with public involvement, will unveil the final design for the building that will soon provide a new home for the state's natural history museum.

The new museum will be built on university land just southeast of Red Butte Garden, 300 Wakara Way, where Thursday's announcement will be made.
