Amy Rees Anderson, chief executive officer of MediConnect Global Inc. has been selected by the MountainWest Capital Network as the Entrepreneur of the Year for 2008, becoming the first woman chosen for the honor.
Anderson will speak at a luncheon of about 200 business and government executives Thursday at noon at the Marriott City Center, 220 S. State.
Each year, MountainWest, a business and networking organization for entrepreneurs, recognizes a business executive who has built a successful Utah-based company and has inspired others to participate in the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship.
Anderson began MediConnect, an Internet health-care technology company, with $23,000 in seed capital.
