TAYLORSVILLE — Police arrested a man with a long rap sheet after a short chase Monday evening.

Michael Gallegos, 28, was spotted by metro gang officers in West Valley City and sped away when police tried to stop him, said West Valley Police Lt. Lamonte Cox.

Gallegos was wanted on several outstanding warrants, police said.

"He was moving his way up the list," Cox said. "He was probably public enemy No. 3."

Police chased Gallegos on to a dead-end street, where he abandoned his car and started running. Officers arrested him a short time later. No one was injured.
