LDS Business College received a $1 million gift last week from an anonymous donor, bringing the total by the same donor to $2 million.

Annual interest generated by the donation will be used to create endowments by matching donations from others. The college used the donor's first $1 million gift to create similar endowments.

The money has been used to further develop scholarships for the college.

"Even in those years when we're not able to use all the money for matches, it will still be applied directly to scholarships," said Craig Nelson, vice president of student affairs and advancement. "It's a marvelous, inspired program."

According to the college's scholarship office, about 70 percent of students who apply for a scholarship at LDS Business College receive some level of award.
