CLEARFIELD The city will offer its own "Idol" music contest again this year
"We had such a fun time last year with the 'Clearfield Idol' contest that we decided to offer it again this year," said Clearfield special events organizer Natalee Flynn.
The singing competition is open to ages 6 and up. Preliminary auditions and elimination rounds will take place June 14 at the Clearfield Community Center Little Theatre, 140 E. Center St.
Age categories are as follows: 6 -12, 13-19 and 20-plus. Auditions for the 6-12 age group will be from 10 a.m. until noon; 13-19 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; and the 20 and over group from 3 to 5 p.m.
Callbacks for all age categories will be at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to first place and runner-up in each age group.
Finalists will perform at Clearfield's Fourth of July Celebration and ride on the "Clearfield Idol" parade float.
