Statement from Josh Powell's employer

The following is a statement from Josh Powell's employer:

First, our prayers and sympathies go out to the families, friends, and all those affected by this horrific event. There is not a caring person in the world that has heard the details and hasnt been touched by sadness.

We understand the need for answers. However, we are not really a part of the story... Our company is very small and Josh Powell was simply one of our employees. He worked for us remotely from his home for less than a year, and there was not a lot of personal interaction. He was a hard worker and completed the tasks requested. We had no idea he was capable of anything like this, and of course, had anything occurred that raised our suspicion, we would have reported it to the police immediately.

Last Sunday afternoon, I received the same email that others had, it stated, Im sorry. Goodbye. After I heard the news of what happened, I called 911 to report receiving the email.

I have cooperated fully with the investigation and will continue to do so.

Ive told you everything I know. I wish there was something more that I could say to help understand this terrible tragedy. I am at a loss. Were all at a loss.
