SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Urban Forestry Program employee Julie Fratto was recently recognized as the 2011 Utah Arborist of the year.
Fratto has worked for more than two decades servicing trees, conducting outreach and serving in a leadership role as an advocate for the care, planting and protection of thousands of trees in Salt Lake City.
The award recognizes the arborist who, through professionalism or volunteer work, has strengthened arboriculture in Utah and has shown outstanding dedication to the field of arboriculture in the community.
She was selected as Arborist of the Year by the Utah Community Forest Council Board of Directors, which also functions as the Utah chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture.
