MALIBU, Calif. — Lauren Bell scored a career-high 26 points, Kelsey Patrick had 13 and Pepperdine used a strong second half to upset No. 22 BYU 61-49 on Thursday night, ending the Lady Cougars' nine-game winning streak.

The loss was only the third time this season BYU has scored less than 50 points in a game.

Jazmine Jackson added 10 points for the Waves (11-10, 6-4 WCC), who shot 55 percent after halftime and harassed the Cougars into 23 total turnovers.

Kristen Riley had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Haley Steed added 10 points to lead BYU (20-4, 8-2). The loss dropped the Lady Cougars out of a tie with Gonzaga for first place in the West Coast Conference.

Bell hit back-to-back 3-pointers from the same spot near the top of the key to push the lead to 53-36 with 31/2 minutes remaining.

The Lady Cougars made a late push, getting as close as 56-49 with just over a minute to play. Bell was then intentionally fouled and made both free throws to preserve the win.

OREGON 72, UTAH 67: At Eugene, Ore., Amanda Johnson and Nia Jackson scored 19 points each and Oregon held off a late charge by Utah.

Liz Brenner added 10 points for the Ducks (12-10, 4-6 Pac-12), who led the entire game but nearly had their 16-point second-half advantage erased.

Taryn Wicijowski led the Utes (10-11, 3-7) with 19 points and Janita Badon added 17, including a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left that cut Oregon's lead to 68-67. Utah had trailed 59-43 with 9:24 to play.

But Johnson and Ariel Thomas each made a pair of free throws to seal the win for the Ducks.

A close finish couldn't have been predicted after Oregon took a 23-5 lead with nine minutes left in the first half. The Ducks led 40-25 at halftime.

The Utes got back into the game with six second-half 3-pointers but were 10 of 34 from the 3-point line overall.

UTAH STATE 78, SAN JOSE STATE 73: At San Jose, Calif., Ashlee Brown scored 30 points while making 16 free throws and grabbing 14 rebounds for the Aggies (14-6, 5-1 WAC).

PORTLAND STATE 76, WEBER STATE 63: At Portland, Ore., junior forward Shawnte Taylor scored a career-high 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds, but the Wildcats fell short of pulling out their first Big Sky Conference win of the season.

Led by Courtney VanBrocklin's 16 points, the Vikings topped the Wildcats 76-63 at the Stott Center.
