SALT LAKE CITY — Utah received letters from a pair of highly touted quarterbacks on National Signing Day. Chase Hansen of Lone Peak High and Travis Wilson of San Clemente High in California made their commitments to the Utes official Wednesday morning.
The Pac-12 Conference is loaded at the quarterback position and the two we signed are very talented and should fit right in that mold, Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said in a released statement announcing the 2012 recruiting class.
Besides Hansen, other in-state signees include Syracuse defensive lineman Hunter Dimick, Hunter defensive end Mose Folauhola, Alta safety Austin Lee, Davis offensive lineman Zach Lindsay, Brighton offensive lineman Nua Poteki, East defensive lineman Vaha Vainuku and Snow College defensive lineman Tenny Palepoi.
Lee and Poteki signed financial tenders and plan to serve LDS Church missions before joining the Utes. Same goes for linebacker Jake Jackson of La Costa Canyon High in California and tight end Pasoni Tasini of Baldwin High in Hawaii.
Utah's first two signed letters came from Texas — wide receiver Brian Allen (La Marque HS) and offensive lineman Hiva Lutui (Euless Trinity HS).
Others that followed came from offensive lineman J.J. Dielman (Desert Vista HS, Ariz.), linebacker Reshawn Hooker (A.B. Miller HS, Calif.), offensive lineman Lio Lafaele (Centennial HS, Calif.), offensive lineman Carlos Lozano (East Los Angeles College), wide receiver Delshawn McClellon (Gahr HS, Calif.), defensive back Reginald Porter (Amite HS, La.), offensive lineman Marc Pouvave (Southwestern College), offensive lineman Jeremiah Poutasi (Desert Pines HS, Nev.), offensive lineman Junior Salt (Mount San Antonio College, Calif.), defensive back Justin Thomas (West Orange-Stark, Texas), defensive lineman Sione Tupouata (Snow College), defensive back Alphonso Marsh (Dominguez HS, Calif.) and defensive end Moana Ofahegaue (Westlake HS).
Running back Kelvin York (5-11, 225, Fullerton College) and offensive lineman Koliniasi Leota (6-5, 260, Mount San Antonio College) were mid-year signees and are already enrolled in school.

Brian Allen, La Marque HS, La Marque, Texas, 6-4, 170, WR.
J.J. Dielman, Desert Vista (Arizona) HS, 6-4, 240 OL.
Hunter Dimick, Syracuse HS, 6-3, 254, DL.
