OGDEN — Several strong individual efforts weren't enough for the Weber State Wildcats to overcome their inability to hold on to the basketball on Thursday.
Using a high-pressure full-court defense, Sacramento State forced the Weber State University women's basketball team into 26 turnovers, and converted them into 31 points en route to taking a 83-68 victory in Big Sky Conference action at the Dee Events Center.
Junior forward Shawnte Taylor led Weber State with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while senior center Mikell Woodfield added 12 points and six rebounds for the Wildcats.
Junior forward Amanda Hughes had her sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
CHICAGO STATE 69, UTAH VALLEY 42: At Chicago, Utah Valley's modest three game win streak was snapped as it fell to Chicago State. CSU's Janay Dockery led all scorers with 26 points and helped limit the Wolverines to just 29 percent shooting for the game.
Sammie Jensen recorded her 10th double-double on the year in the loss, scoring a team-high 16 points and snatching a game-high 12 boards. Erika Newbold finished the game with six points and six rebounds.
